Comthago, the current young star under the saddle of Hessel Hoekstra, will be the sire of the expected foal.

The Comme il faut x Carthago son was placed 7th in the World Cup show jumping in London in December.

Comthago combines the genes of the jumping phenomenon Comme Il Faut with a performance-oriented Holstein dam line. With Comme Il Faut, Carthago, Caretino, Constant, and Roman in his lineage, Comthago has the complete gene package to be successful in both sport and breeding. Comme Il Faut, who jumps at the highest level with Marcus Ehning, is a son of the world-famous Cornet Obolensky. Comme Il Faut's dam is the legendary mare Ratina Z. Comme Il Faut won the GCT in Madrid and the Grand Prix in Vienna and Paderborn. Comthago's grandsire Carthago brings endless power and jumped twice at the Olympic Games under Jos Lansink: Atlanta and Sydney. Carthago is one of the best in breeding, as is his great-grandfather Caretino, who is still represented at the highest level by his offspring. Constant and Roman also competed at international level.

Dam Maccarena is a Hanoverian premium mare and last year gave birth to her first foal, an incredibly well-built foal by Akarad Hero Z.

Grandmother St.Pr. mare Chaccofina was herself successful in 1.20 m jumping in a year in which she was not in foal.

Three of her young offspring (Cocofina, Cerafina, and Chaccero) have already qualified for the National Championships. Cerafina and Chaccero are currently successful at heights of up to 1.50 m!

The foal thus has top sires such as Comme il faut, Cornet Obolensky, Carthago, Caretino, Diamant de Semilly, Chin Chin, Quidam de Revel, Chacco Blue, Grannus, Gotthard, For Pleasure, Calypso II, and Pilot directly in the front generations of its pedigree.
